so, how have you been?

it has been a while. a few names and faces in the news, John Roberts, Cindy Sheehan, Pat Robertson and a few others. where do I start?

lets go with the white guy. to hear the debate, (or what passes for debate in the media), one would think that we are hiring somebody to adjudicate one issue only, (yeah, that one). I have an opinion along those lines, but it is pretty irrelevant, and it has been stated before, so I will spare you. what irks me is that I am unable to get a handle on this nominee, mainly because everything that is tossed to me, (like a bone to a dog), is from somebody who is certain that his or her view is absolutely and morally correct, and anyone deviating one iota from it is looking to undermine the entire fabric of our society.

let it go folks, the practice will not go away when the issue does, and I believe that the forces that work in a market based economy will work in that arena as well, and keep it as safe as it is now, and as affordable as it is now.

then we have Ms Sheehan. I admire the woman, I really do, but she is in extreme danger of overplaying her hand, and making herself the issue instead of the conduct of our government. she needs to execute a tactical retreat and work at this through different channels. in the first week of her action, she brought attention to the attitude of the President, and may even have been the proverbial straw that broke the camels back in terms of the shift in public opinion towards the war.

Pat Robertson. what else is there to say? the guy is a crank, and the only better response that the world could have given would have been laughter. speaking for myself, I take Penn & Teller a lot more seriously than I do the esteemed Mr Robertson.

do either of you reading this have anything to say?
