maybe they should form a union....
Rep. Steny H. Hoyer, the Maryland Democrat who will become House majority leader and is writing the schedule for the next Congress, said members should expect longer hours than the brief week they have grown accustomed to.
"Keeping us up here eats away at families," said Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), who typically flies home on Thursdays and returns to Washington on Tuesdays. "Marriages suffer. The Democrats could care less about families -- that's what this says."
It brings a tear to my eye, just to think that these dedicated souls are working soooo hard and such long hours, all for the benefit of, eh, themselves.
Stay focused.
If you really want to have fun, find out when your representatives typically flies in and out of DC and meet them sometime at the airport, just to say hello and that you are paying attention.

Hey I resent that remark! Being ex-union I am pretty sure I worked a lot harder (from time to time) than 109th Congress.
I sort of wonder when they've flung the "family values" line once too often and someone like this clown gets recalled by the voters. Seems he really doesn't want to be there so the great people of Ga. might want to send him home for good.
JB
they may, or may not want to send him packing, I don't even know the guy. remember, I was also in the same local, (albeit not as long).
he is just bitchin', if folks knew the full extent of the perks and benefits of that office they would expect some regular work schedules, as well as a little less yak and a bit more stack...
just my $0.02.
Don't most people move if they get a great job that's far from home? I'm curious who pays for all these people's travel.
